#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Young photographer Andrei Belavin, thanks to winning in the All-Russian photo contest, will be able to fulfill his dream – to visit one of the most beautiful places on the planet – the Putorana plateau in Taimyr.
The results of the By Nature photo contest, which was held by the Ecology of Russia portal, were summed up at the Specially Protected Natural Areas Directors All-Russian Congress.

Travel blogger Andrei Belavin from the Vladimir region, who is a member of the Russian Explorers team of young photographers, won a certificate for a trip to the country of waterfalls and lakes – the Putorana plateau. His photo Aktoprak Pass in Kabardino-Balkaria was recognized by experts as the best in the Reserved Riches through Tourist’s Eyes category.
The winner will have a rare opportunity to live on the Putoransky reserve’s cordon – lake Sobachye, get acquainted with the environmental organization employees’ everyday life, see waterfalls from a bird’s eye view, go boating and enjoy the UNESCO heritage nature by walking.
The Putorana plateau in the Evenk language means “a country of lakes with steep banks”. 30 species of mammals, 187 species of birds and about 40 species and subspecies of fish inhabit the Putoransky reserve territory.
Recall that photos and essays by scientists from the Reserves of Russia were included in the updated Red Book, experts also collected material for a film about Taimyr.
Earlier, participants of the Taimyr Salt gastroexpedition plunged into cosmos of the Putorana plateau.
