#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The celebration of the Sun meeting in Norilsk almost failed for the second time. Bad weather again tried to prevent the Heiro ensemble artists from coming from Dudinka, but the persistent Taimyr guys could not leave Norilsk without the luminary after the polar night.
The ensemble Heiro (eng.: Sun) and the artists of the Dudinka Chamber Theater were transported to Norilsk by special transport from Taimyrburservice LLC drillers and Yamaldorstroy JSC builders, who were engaged in the construction of Rosneft facilities in Taimyr. Great admirers of Taimyr folk talents sent the Sun to us on an all-terrain production vehicle and brought the artists back on time.
Everyone was supposed to meet the Sun together in Norilsk on January 20, right in front of the museum. A whole ethnic holiday The Sun is in Each of Us was supposed to take place here in honor of the heavenly body that appeared at our latitude after a long polar night.
A concert program was planned on the street with the participation of creative groups from Dudinka and Norilsk. The song and dance ensemble of the peoples of the North Heiro was supposed to become a special guest of the holiday and its key participant, not only because of its name, but also in honor of the 55th anniversary, which the honored folk art group of the Russian Federation is celebrating this year.
But then the weather made its own adjustments to the holiday, and the guests from Dudinka were unable to come due to the snowstorm, moreover, the sun itself did not appear that day.
It was impossible to allow this to happen a second time – to leave Norilsk friends without the sun – and Heiro came to Norilsk. There was no full-scale celebration, but the artists of the ensemble and chamber theater gave a performance at the museum that surprisingly closely coincided with reality. To save Taimyr from a black blizzard, eternal cold and stop the confrontation between two proud and stubborn shamans, the deer Tuztah, the polar owl Serne, the partridge Lydako and the bear Tuunbaka joined forces in the production.
“The sun – a huge red deer, having climbed into the blue expanse of the sky, pulls, like a sleigh, a shining day – the day of the continuation of the people’s life!” – the holiday program is based on the wisdom of the Taimyr indigenous people and their age-old traditions.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr wrote about the end of the polar night at the Taimyr latitude. And also about how the ensemble Heiro represented Taimyr at the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva.
