#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russia has launched the Arctic Victory Relay.
The relay, dedicated to the memory of the War heroes, kicked off on March 17 in Chukotka and conclude on April 16 in Yamal. The Victory banner will be transported using reindeer and dog sleds, snowmobiles, and off-road vehicles across four regions: the Chukotka autonomous district, the Saha Republic (Yakutia), Yamal, and the Krasnoyarsk region. The total route will cover more than 5 500 kilometers, according to the Telegram channel Our Taimyr.
The relay features reindeer herders, volunteers, and representatives from public organizations. Events include parades of reindeer sleds, drawing competitions, and much more.
Previously, This Is Taimyr reported that April 30 will be celebrated as the Day of the Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of Russia.
