July 24, 2024

A special offline application has also been created for tourists.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Experts have created a digital museum of the Tikhaya Bay polar station, which is located on the Franz Josef Land archipelago. The portal contains an interactive map for virtual excursions. There you can also look at 3D panoramas.

In addition, the portal includes large blocks with multimedia materials, historical photo and video chronicles. The website and virtual museum will be constantly updated, TASS reports with reference to Pavel Filin, deputy director of the Museum and Exhibition Center for Technical and Technological Development of the Arctic.

Another component of the project is the creation of an offline application for tourists: travelers will be able to get information about all objects located in the polar station complex. Tourists get to the station as part of Arctic cruises on the nuclear icebreaker 50 Let Pobedy.

Earlier, This Is Taimyr reported that new islands were found in the Arctic, 40 years of Arctic research are now available online.
