#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A new Rostourism (Eng.: Russian tourism), the Russian Post and the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) joint project Postal Tourism will begin in two Arctic regions: the Murmansk region and Karelia.
Russian Post does not act as a tour operator, but as an aggregator and developer of unusual routes. Electronic guides can be found on a specially designed site pochta-travel.ru. The direction will cover all Russian subjects in the future. The various applications’ development is also expected.

You can already go on two tours in the Murmansk region. The five-day trip Shine of the North involves visiting the main territory’s attractions, a boat trip along the Barents Sea, snowmobiling, familiarity with indigenous lifestyle. Tourists will be able to send a postcard from the icebreaker. And those who go on the ten-day tour Northern Seas’ Secrets will see ancient wooden churches, indigenous peoples’ sacred places, sandy deserts with wild horses and the candles’ delivery to the monastery by mail.
“Our task is to provide a safe, comfortable, convenient and memorable travel history through social attraction’s points (post offices), and there are about a hundred of them only in the Murmansk region”, said the North-West Russian Post’s macro-region head Dmitry Serebrennikov.
Earlier we told about new tours to Taimyr and the new route along the gorge of mount Schmidt.
