#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. New tours to the largest peninsula in the country Taimyr will be launched in Russia. Tours include visiting the Putorana Plateau which is famous for a large number of protected lakes and beautiful waterfalls. Kayaking and sport fishing are provided. Tourists will spend the night in cozy houses with amenities.
The Norilsk Development Agency representative Anzhela Tkachenko told:
The Taimyr’s area is 900 thousand square kilometers: this is one and a half France, three Great Britain or ten Portugal. There is the northernmost continental point of Eurasia Cape Chelyuskin, the world’s northernmost mountains and a lake and the highest waterfall in Russia on the peninsula.
According to the National Hospitality Industry Union’s vice-president Natalia Osipova, the unique Arctic Mosaic route will show travelers the fjord lakes and canyons of the Putorana Plateau, the Arctic tundra and the rocks of Hatanga. Tourists will get acquainted with the of the indigenous small peoples’ culture and life in Norilsk and Dudinka.
The cost of the tour is from 290,000 rubles, it includes the flight. It is assumed that this year the influx of travelers to the north of the region will increase by 30 percent, last year Taimyr was visited by 9,500 people.
Earlier we told that a new tour route along the gorge of Mount Schmidt is being developed in Norilsk.
