#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. At the ski base Ol-Gul the Norilsk residents held the Northern Berry festival which is loved by the townspeople.
They were preparing thoroughly for the fifth, anniversary season of the festival: on the asphalt in front of the base building, the artists drew a three-dimensional drawing of the northernmost berry – cloudberry and ten professional teams from different cities of the country created sculptures from natural stone.
Thus, the specialists of the Norilsk family center taught the guests of the holiday the technique of making a needle case and hair clips.
On Sunday morning, themed photo zones and even berry mail worked at Ol-Gul, with which everyone could send a holiday card to their relatives or friends.
Not only adults, but also children took part in the festival. Pupils of the Kayerkan Arts school prepared an exhibition of linocuts. Their graphic works reflect the fauna of Taimyr. The idea of the exhibition received grant support in The World of New Opportunities competition of social projects of the Nornickel company.
The Norilsk residents were particularly attracted by the objects of the Northern Land Art and eco-accessories creation master classes. Ten teams from Moscow, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Angarsk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Chehov and other cities made sculptures from natural material: a hedgehog, a butterfly, a heart, an acorn, a shaman, a bear.
The sculptures were decorated with fresh Krasnodar flowers. The result is a bright garden of figurines, through which residents of Norilsk will be able to walk.
Amazing art objects created for the anniversary of the festival, according to the masters, will stay there for two years. A respectful attitude will help to prolong their life.
The Northern Berry festival will continue with the Berry Season photography competition, which will be announced by the Culture and Arts Department . The authors of the best pictures of the Taimyr tundra will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
