#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Novosibirsk, the first international forum of innovators In’Hub, initiated by Nornickel, has completed its work. The exposition has collected more than 200 projects from inventors from all over Russia and foreign countries.
Gold medals were got by 40 best works, among their authors there were experienced and young participants. The forum gathered inventors of all ages: the youngest was 11 years old, the most experienced – 83 years old.
At the opening, the Novosibirsk region governor Andrey Travnikov expressed the hope that the forum would help develop the dialogue between industry, investors and inventors:
“We try to support and develop the innovative sector of the economy. We try to look for solutions aimed at overcoming the barrier between research and their embodiment. Over the past decade, the world has changed a lot, and today not only academic institutions, but also regional universities, and even small innovative companies are engaged in research. Whatever difficulties arise, today many people offer advanced ideas, invent something. And our task is to help them introduce development into our life”.
The developments presented on the forum are in demand now, and thanks to the work of inventors, it will be possible to implement many innovative import -substituting projects.
“You are the most important part of our society. What you invent today creates the future. There would be no innovation without you, there would be no development. And if there is no development, stagnation occurs – both economic and social”, the International Federation of Inventors Associations (IFIA) president advisor David Taji Faruki addressed the participants.
The competitive part jury selected 12 projects of varying degrees of readiness, whose authors got the opportunity to present their ideas to investors and business angels. Experts were representatives of leading investment companies and funds of Russia.
The submitted projects covered a wide range of public and industrial spheres, among them there were unmanned drones, electric motors, climate control devices, projects to improve the quality of labor protection at mining enterprises and much more.
“During the forum work, Nornickel employees conducted their own educational program. At mini-lectures, participants could learn about computer vision technologies, a technological radar and increase their digital literacy. At the end of each lecture, fascinating quizes were held on the topics related to IT technologies”, the Nornickel press service said.
At the company’s stand, those who wish could get to know the activities of the industrial giant closer, learn about high technologies in production, make a virtual trip to the mine and try on a real industrial exoskeleton.
“It is important that the inventors entered partner agreements right on the forum site. For example, a startup, which invented antibacterial packaging film, made friends with the biodegradable dishes developers. And it is ready to share an innovative composition so that in the end, antibacterial biodegradable dishes are obtained. And we see a lot of such partnerships”, shared Irina Zhuikova, the Nornickel social policy department head.
The In’Hub jury, consisting of scientists, investors and innovative entrepreneurs, chose winners in two categories: beginning inventors and experienced inventors. In total, 40 people received the gold medals of the forum, including schoolchildren.
Recall, Nornickel filed three effective developments on In’Hub. The This Is Taimyr also spoke about the I Make engineer competition, which Nornickel organizes annually. Earlier, the company and the Moscow innovative cluster opened a set of applications for participation in the Industry Tech 2022 – a competition of the mining and metallurgical industry innovative developments.
