#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Scientists-ethnographers and a team of documentary filmmakers went to Taimyr on a film expedition – a series of ethnographic films Children of the Sun about the North indigenous peoples’ representatives will be shot here. The expedition will collect information about the Taimyr Enets and Nganasans in Dudinka, Ust-Avam and Potapovo.
For the first time, scientists-ethnographers and a team of documentary filmmakers joined for the project – a film crew of TV Studio August LLC, which creates ethnographic films for the cycle Land of People on the Russia-Culture TV channel.
The team has been successfully shooting documentaries about the life of small ethnic groups from remote corners of the country for several years.
“Taimyr is an amazing place where nature and man try to tame each other. In the harsh conditions of the North, everyone is a hero and deserves a separate film”, says Anna Koryakovtseva, author, director and producer of the Land of People project on the Russia-Culture TV channel, general director of TV Studio August LLC.
The result of the expeditions will be media content designed for the widest audience: the Russia-Culture channel will broadcast video materials about the culture, traditions and way of life of the Taimyr small peoples.
The project was initiated by the Kirillika non-commercial organization and LLC TV Studio August with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
Recall that Nornickel presented the indigenous northerners with traditional housing. The nomads of Yamal wear the same belts as the reindeer herders of Taimyr. National Geographic magazine wrote about the life of the indigenous Taimyr ethnic groups.
