#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On the second day of the forum The Nornickel. The Import Substitution is the New Opportunities the participants visited five Nornickel’s mines, two metallurgical plants and the Talnah Concentrating plant.
The leading Russian equipment suppliers’ representatives got acquainted with the production process and made conclusions about what analogues and technologies they can offer.
The Copper plant became one of the places visited by the northern city’s guests. The Copper plant’s deputy director for industrial assets management Igor Borodin said:
Fortunately our plant has a small amount of imported equipment. We’ve tried to take the best world brands’ technologies. For example, locking equipment which is used in the copper electrolysis workshop, loading and hauling machines, instrumentation and much more. But there have always been many Russian manufacturers among our partners, they are not inferior to foreign ones. And today we listened to the forum participants’ proposals and determined the further cooperation’s vector.
The Riza Gold’s CEO and owner Vadim Golubev was impressed by the production process’ scale and said that he was ready to offer the Nornickel mutually beneficial cooperation:
We produce lifting equipment, overhead, foundry, metallurgical, gantry and port cranes and lifting equipment, from electric winches to equipment with a lifting capacity of 126,000 tons. It was said at the forum that the Nornickel needed to replace overhead cranes, and we can help. Each production facility, each workshop is individual, so we will make cranes for the Nornickel which are necessary for normal and stable operation in the conditions they will be operated.
The Heat Energy Company’s project manager Anton Putilov emphasized that thanks to such forums the production sector develops despite the existing difficulties:
Today I was impressed by the production scale including the copper casting workshop. It was interesting to learn about the plant’s needs. I regard the forum organized by the Nornickel as positive: we exchanged experience, got to know our colleagues and agreed on cooperation.
The two-day forum The Nornickel. The Import Substitution is the New Opportunities was attended by 350 people including representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Industry, Krasnoyarsk region’s energy and housing and public utilities and the leading Russian suppliers and equipment manufacturers’ representatives.
