#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. As part of the regional stage of the Small Homeland is the Strength of Russia all-Russian forum, the participants toured Monchegorsk and engaged with the Nornickel’s corporate volunteer projects.
During the forum held in Murmansk, attendees discussed pressing issues such as waste recycling and disposal, forest fires, and flooding, also visited leading enterprises, as reported by kn51.ru.
Andrey Rudakov, the head of Monchegorsk, highlighted the significant positive changes in the city, largely attributed to the contributions of Kola MMC and Nornickel.
Maxim Ryabushkin, the deputy general director of Kola MMC, presented an overview of the company’s operations, corporate investments, and initiatives in ecology and charity.
“In the past two years, we have conducted extensive research in collaboration with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences to assess the biodiversity levels in areas where the company operates. We are actively partnering with nature reserves”, the speaker noted.
During their visit to the nickel electrolytic workshop, guests observed the production process, inspected finished products, and learned about waste disposal operations.
“It’s been an incredible tour! The scale, automation, and atmosphere are truly impressive”, remarked Valery Mashkin, the head of the Vyatskie Polyany city in Kirov region.
At the Volunteer House, guests were informed about the corporate volunteer movement of Nornickel and its close collaboration with the Lapland nature reserve.
Earlier, with the Nornickel’s support, the Tourist Station festival was held near Monchegorsk.
