#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The forum The Nornickel. The Import Substitution is the New Opportunities brought together more than 100 largest Russian manufacturers and suppliers whose products are not inferior in quality to the best foreign analogues.
On the first day participants discussed government support measures for enterprises involved in import substitution, the Norilsk division’s needs, the principles of interaction with manufacturers and incentives for entrepreneurs in the Arctic. Nornickel’s representatives discussed with potential partners development prospects in six areas: in the field of mechanical equipment, energy, automation and digitalization, mining, self-propelled mining equipment and transport.
The outcome of the first day of the forum was the signing of agreements of intent, which will set a new vector for the further development of metallurgical and mining production.

Among the companies that have signed a memorandum providing for the import substitution measures’ implementation are the Siberian Industrial Association, Novomek Engineering, Tyazhmash and many others.
The Siberian Industrial Association’s general director Oleg Merchenko said:
We presented the Nornickel with a pump with our polymer-composite quotation. We signed an agreement for industrial testing and we hope that this equipment will be useful to the Company.
The Novomek Engineering’s general director Petr Savrasov said that their company provided services for technological research, design, construction and equipment supply’s for mining and processing enterprises:
We carry out the entire technological research cycle and are considered one of the best laboratories in the Russian Federation’s north-west. The laboratory uses the flotation method of the polymetallic ores’ extraction. We have achieved amazing results in this direction. Previously, our main activity was concentrated in Kazakhstan, but today Novomek Engineering has an excellent opportunity to showcase its developments, positive technological solutions that will benefit the Nornickel.
Today, June 24, the forum participants’ work will continue at the Nornickel’s Polar Division’s enterprises.
