#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Today an expedition has started in Taimyr within the framework of the interstate television and radio company Mir and the Social Networks agency joint project iKumena.
The project was created in 2019 to promote domestic tourism, develop brands in Russian territories, preserve and popularize the country’s natural and cultural heritage.
According to the press service of the Taimyr administration, the expedition consisted of ten people, including bloggers and travelers, a photojournalist of RIA Novosti.
During the week, the members of the expedition will get acquainted with the peculiarities of local life, will take part in the Reindeer Herder Day celebration in the Nosok village, where the main event – a reindeer sled race – will be filmed.
The group plans to visit the Dudinsky seaport to learn about year-round navigation, the Taimyr ice arena, reindeer herders’ camp, where they will get acquainted with the life and customs of nomadic families, learn to communicate with animals, ride sledges, and set up a chum.
The result of the expedition will be a documentary film about life on Taimyr. The expedition is supported by the Nornickel company.
Earlier we told about the trip of Russian bloggers to the reindeer herders’ camp. We also reported that in February 2022, an interactive VR tutorial will be presented, with the help of which, it will be possible not only to get acquainted with the life of the indigenous people, but also to learn the Nenets language.
