#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The exhibition dedicated to the day of remembrance of the talented person, allowing readers to get acquainted with the writer’s work, is organized in the Norilsk city library of family reading.
As the library staff reminds, this year marks 30 years since the death of the Dolgan poetess, storyteller, translator and founder of the Dolgan written language Evdokia (Ogduo) Aksenova.
She was also the founder of the Dolgan written language. Aksenova prepared the first draft of her alphabet in 1978. A year later, the Dolgan alphabet was approved. One more year later, the authorities allowed organizing experimental teaching of first-graders in one of Dudinka schools using Aksenova’s handwritten primer. In 1990, the publishing house Prosveshchenie released the seventh version of Aksenova’s Dolgan primer, which received official recognition from the authorities.
The library notes how important it is to honor the poetess’s memory. The exhibition dedicated to her includes unique board games: the original story strategy ‘hypт’ in the Dolgan language and Five Hunters for travel lovers.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr wrote about the presentation of the updated Dolgan primer at the Taimyr House of Folk Art.
