#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Anton Lysov, the Putorana Territory organization head, spoke about the Bighorn Footsteps project, the winner of the Nornickel’s World of New Opportunities social projects competition.
Travelers received a grant of more than 1.7 million rubles to implement their ideas. The presentation was held at the Taimyr Reserves directorate office. Anton Lysov spoke about the proposed route. The expedition will last seven to ten days, the participants will cover about 500 kilometers.
Together with experienced tourists and Norilsk activists, the participants also discussed the importance of preserving the bighorn, the Putorana bighorn sheep, and answered the question why one should be especially careful in places where these animals can be found: the bighorn sheep lives only on the Putorana plateau and is listed in the Russia Red Book.
As a result of the Putorana Territory and the Taimyr Reserves directorate’s project, winter and summer tourist routes will be created along the Putorana plateau with viewpoints and filming locations of the Territory movie.
Earlier, the expedition North-2022 went to Severnaya Zemlya. We also told that Russian bloggers visited Taimyr again, and the Severny Gorod media company, together with the Norilsk Development Agency, launched a large TV project about Arctic tourism.
