#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Russia, astronomical spring begins on March 20 – at 12:01 PM Moscow time, the Sun will cross the equator. While autumn will start in the Southern hemisphere, spring will take hold in the Northern hemisphere. This information comes from TASS, citing experts from the Moscow planetarium.
On the day of the equinox, the line that separates day from night runs directly through the North and South poles, resulting in equal lengths of day and night everywhere on Earth.
As a reminder, the polar night in Norilsk ended on January 13. The transition from day to night will continue until March 27, after which twilight nights will begin in this region, lasting for 30 days. The white nights will start on April 26, and by May 19, residents of Norilsk will experience the polar day, which will last for 68 days.
