#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Russia Tour Operators Association has published a memo for those who are planning a trip to the Krasnoyarsk region. It tells about five places that are guaranteed to make your vacation exciting. Along with Shushenskoye, where Lenin once spent his exile years, and the Ergaki National Park, three northern locations entered the top.
Putorana plateau
Tourists are invited to one of the most ancient plateaus of volcanic origin in the world – Putorana: bottomless canyons, low clouds, fjord lakes and cascades of waterfalls from 10 to 60 meters – the adventure tourism lovers’ dream. By the way, the water in lake Lama on the plateau is considered cleaner than in Baikal.
You can get to the Putorana plateau from Norilsk by boat, by helicopter, and in winter by snowmobiles. There is no automobile road to the reserve. The best time to visit is summer, especially during the polar day – from May 19 to July 25 and white nights – from July 25 to August 15.
Tour operators offer many recreation centers. For example, you can live in a glamping near the reserved lake Sobachye – these are dome-type tents with panoramic windows. A week-long walking tour costs from 50 thousand, combined ones – from 250 thousand rubles. Helicopter tour to Putorana will cost 180 thousand per hour. The price for cruises along the Yenisei from Krasnoyarsk with a visit to the plateau is from 103 thousand.
Tourist complex Zatundra
Soon the Nornickel company’s modern multifunctional tourist complex Zatundra will be built on the plateau area. It will become the starting point for a variety of tourist routes throughout the Taimyr territory. Within five years, a tourist village will appear in the area of Lama and Melkoye lakes. The objects will be connected by water transport. In addition, they plan to build hiking trails.
From Taimyr to the North Pole
In an updated format, the Zapolyarye hotel in the Taimyr village of Hatanga will soon start working. The hotel will welcome its first visitors at the end of this summer, and the village will become a gathering point for travelers who want to see the North Pole.
You can find various options for recreation in the Krasnoyarsk region on its official tourist portal visitsiberia.info.
Also, a solar-powered camp site will be created in Taimyr soon, and an observation deck will be built on mount Schmidt. The route from Norilsk through Dudinka and Hatanga to Dikson is currently being developed.
