#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Norilsk, the SEVER-2022 collaborative collection’s work is in full swing. At the intersection of industrial production and manual labor, craftsmen create practical and cozy things that will warm and delight their owners in any weather.
Recall that the collections of 2020 and 2021 were dedicated to the Taimyr nature and the indigenous peoples culture. When creating a new collection, the authors are inspired not only by the beauty and originality of the peninsula peoples, but also by the uniqueness of Norilsk, one of the northernmost cities in the world.
“The basis of this year’s collection is layering. It refers to traditional northern clothing and echoes the Taimyr nomads’ philosophy. The 2022 collection will include clothes for home, office and street: T-shirts, dresses, shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, hats, balaclavas and mittens, accessories: bone earrings, soutache embroidery brooches, as well as home textiles and ceramics”, the Norilsk Development Agency specialists said.
Recently, the collection curators Svetlana Lipkina and Svetlana Kolchurina visited Norilsk on a working trip. Together with the project organizers, they discussed the intermediate results of the work, presented products prototypes, of fabrics and accessories samples. The collection masters and artisans received valuable advice during individual consultations.
