Putorana plateau tops 10 most picturesque places list

August 16, 2024

The best months to visit it are July and August.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Kupibilet air and train ticket service has prepared a guide to the most impressive places for camping – traveling with tents in Russia. The Putorana plateau tops the list, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Due to the Arctic climate, the best months to visit the plateau are July and August.

“This deserted plateau in Central Siberia, bordering Taimyr, is surrounded by waterfalls and crossed by deep canyons. Wildlife lovers will find its pristine beauty here. The remoteness from civilization encourages adventure”, the report says.

First, you need to fly to Norilsk by plane, and then use a helicopter or boat to get to the land of waterfalls.

The list of the most picturesque places also includes Olhon island on lake Baikal, the Volga delta in the Astrahan region, the Sunduki mountain range in Hakassia, the Stone Mushrooms in Crimea, the Charskiye Sands in Transbaikalia, the Multinsky Lakes in the Altai Republic, Mountain Shoria in Kuzbass, as well as the Kenozersky national park in the Arhangelsk region and the Zyuratkul park in the Chelyabinsk region.

Recall that the Putorana plateau may get into the top ten places of power.
