Polar photographers created unique albums

September 16, 2024

Norilsk and Dudinka have seen three photo albums: #Norilsk, #Lake Lama and #Nornickel.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The photo albums collected the author’s view and vision of Norilsk photographers and more than 300 of their works.

22 photo artists from Norilsk and Dudinka shared their photos for the albums #Norilsk, #Lake Lama and #Nornickel. The books included about 350 photos. The authors of the works are both amateurs and professionals, beginners and experienced photo artists, and what unites them is the ability to see beauty in every moment.

“The idea of publishing such photo albums has been in the air for a long time, and the actual collection and preparation of material for printing and other organizational issues took about two and a half months. There have been no good publications with professional, interesting photographs in the city for a long time. I am talking specifically about photo albums that focus on the works of contemporary artists. Most of them will see their photos in this format for the first time. Three thematic albums contain works by 22 people, including me. The one girl joined the male company, photographer Elena Hudanova, well known by many Norilsk residents. Well, the themes and names for the albums were suggested by the specifics of our territory. Norilsk is triune: nature, city, plant”, said Alexander Haritonov, Norilsk resident, photographer, publisher.

Alexander Haritonov’s good knowledge of the Norilsk photo community helped him find the authors. And the result is good. The main criterion for selecting photographs was the quality of the work, an individual view. The albums contain photographs by Alexander Haritonov, Alexey Arlyukov, Vitas Beneta, Denis Gaskov and many other talented and original artists.

“If a photograph lingers, makes you want to look at it, makes you think, it means it’s a good photograph. I think everything has turned out great”, added Alexander Haritonov.

It is planned that the photo album series will continue with other themes. Fortunately, there are plenty of unique places in the North that you want to capture in an instant. The published books can be purchased in stores in Norilsk and Dudinka, as well as through the online store.

“The creation of the album #Nornickel was made possible thanks to blog tours organized by the Nornickel company for Norilsk photographers. The collection of photographs was included in the large-scale photo exhibition PROdvizhenie, which became the starting point for working on this album”, emphasized Alexander Haritonov.

Earlier, This Is Taimyr wrote that the filming of the Mi-8. Legends of the Sky movie was completed in Taimyr.
