#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel company has created a website about the biodiversity state in Taimyr, the Kola peninsula and the Trans-Baikal region.
The Preserving Ecosystems portal presents materials on what approaches the company uses to preserve natural ecosystems, what environmental technology has proven to be the most promising in restoring water bodies, where to find biological relics and how Nornickel saves the lives of the Arctic kings – polar bears.
The site is built on a modular principle: each section is represented by a black and white image, which acquires color after studying the module. On the website you can learn about the research of the Great Norilsk and Great Scientific Expeditions, what the ecosystems state integral’s indicator is, which scientists developed specifically for Nornickel, about the joint developments of researchers and the company to improve water quality and productivity of Arctic lakes, and much more.
“We plan to update it annually based on the statistical data accumulated for each new year, talk about new projects and inform about changes occurring in ecosystems. We will post other information about nature and its biodiversity that is important for our stakeholders: everything that will be reliably confirmed by research conducted by Nornickel with the involvement of the most authoritative scientific institutes”, said Stanislav Seleznev, vice president for ecology and industrial safety.
