#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr weather and the spring sun excited Norilsk residents on the last day of the long (like the polar winter) Maslenitsa week (Pancake holiday of meeting spring. – editor). In the city museums, Madam Maslenitsa was celebrated with wide folk festivities – singing, dancing, making amulets, eating hot pancakes.
“The truly popular festivities took place in the Norilsk Museum, on Komsomolskaya square, on Gornyakov square and in the museum’s Talnah branch. In the main building of the Norilsk Museum, a brilliant gift was presented for the occasion – a unique collection of bead art.
Maslenitsa workshops, a rich Crafts Village and a restless, noisy side show also worked here”, said the organizers from the Norilsk Museum.
On the street, waiting for the main character – Madam Maslenitsa – the northerners danced, measured their heroic strength, practiced dexterity and treated themselves to pancakes.
“This time Maslenitsa burned brightly and quickly! According to popular wisdom – the spring will be early! Tired of the capricious winter, to be sure, we burned the second straw woman in Norilsk, and the third in Talnah. Triple Madam Maslenitsa! With triple hope for warm weather and sunshine soon! Let spring hurry!” say the museum staff.
Creative groups of Norilsk, the Cossack society, a music school, a college of arts, the charitable foundation Territory of Good, the rehabilitation center Victoria, the Norilsk mercy center, the city center of culture, the V. Vysotsky CLC, the youth center, and libraries helped create a festive mood.
Earlier, the Norilsk Museum celebrated the ethnic holiday Heiro.
