#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Volunteers from 15 Arctic territories will take part in the Unified Arctic litter pick 2023, organized by the Arctic Development Project Office and the Clean Arctic federal project.
The action will be held from 3 to 5 June in Norilsk, Kayerkan, Dudinka, Uhta, Usinsk, Salehard, Vorkuta, Naryan-Mar, Anadyr, Murmansk, Zapolyarny, Sputnik, Arhangelsk, Yakutsk, Karelia. Northerners will tidy up the most popular holiday destinations.
The action is timed to coincide with the Ecologist Day and has been held for the third year in a row. In 2022, 300 Northern activists took part in it, the oldest participant was 77 years old.
This year, on June 5, live broadcasts and recordings of all litter picks will be broadcast in the Ecosophy project semi-final, which takes place in Arhangelsk.
Russian senators, as well as volunteers from China, Africa, Serbia and other countries will join the Clean Arctic project.
Earlier, under the Clean Norilsk program, Nornickel cleared 2.6 million square meters of land in the Arctic.
