Foreigners join Clean Arctic project

Applications were received from China, Africa, Latin America, Serbia.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Volunteers from Serbia, Central African countries, and China will take part in the third season of the Clean Arctic federal project, aimed at cleaning the Arctic from the USSR times garbage. This was told by the public project head Andrey Nagibin.

Applications are also received from Western countries, but they are not considered nowadays. Recall that in 2022, the first foreigners, university students, took part in the general cleaning of the Arctic territories. In two years, more than five thousand people from all over Russia and ten other countries – Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Brazil, Bolivia, Congo, Mongolia and others – have already joined the project.

The project partners are Nornickel, Rosatom, Phosagro, Russian Railways companies. The Nornickel’s project Clean Norilsk became part of the Clean Arctic project.

Earlier, environmentalists called Nornickel’s Sulfur Program a breakthrough in 2022. Also, the Northern Sea Route would be used to clean up the Arctic from accumulated garbage.
