#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On October 12, the Ecology and Industry: Challenges, Trends, Technologies forum started.
Its organizers are the Nornickel company, the Public Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation.
Until 2019, environmental conferences were held in Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk and Murmansk. Since 2019, the eco-forum has been held in Moscow.
Stanislav Seleznev, vice president for environment and industrial safety at Nornickel, and Andrey Grachev, the company’s vice president for federal and regional programs, will speak at the expert venues.
The forum will be attended by representatives of federal authorities and the northern regions, scientists, social activists, as well as specialists from industrial companies. The participants will be first deputy minister of natural resources and ecology Konstantin Tsygankov, the Rosprirodnadzor head Svetlana Radionova, director of the department for strategic development and corporate policy of the Industry and Trade Ministry Alexey Matushansky, first deputy chairman of the committee on ecology, natural resources and environmental protection of the State Duma Vyacheslav Fetisov, PORA expert center’s general director Alexander Stotsky.
The eco-forum participants will discuss how the development of industry under sanctions can preserve the ecological vector, whether a balance is possible between the socio-economic development of the regions and the preservation of a decent environment, what principles of public-private partnership are relevant in the context of import substitution, and more.
