#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Tambov, Belgorod, Kursk regions, the Republic of Altai and Moscow are among the five Russian regions that are leaders in the national environmental rating. The results of the 61st study were published by the all-Russian public organization Green Patrol.
Krasnoyarsk region took 81st place.
The Nornickel’s unique environmental Sulfur Project was named among the breakthroughs in 2022. According to the latest data, 80 percent of the equipment has already been installed at the project sites. The Sulfur Program’s future workshops are taking on a completed look.
Social activists also noted the contribution of volunteers – over the two years of the Clean Arctic project implementation in nine Arctic regions, more than three thousand volunteers from different regions of Russia and foreign countries have collected and prepared about five thousand tons of waste for processing.
Talking about the leaders in the volunteering development among the Arctic regions, it is worth noting the Murmansk region, the Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district and the city of Norilsk in Krasnoyarsk region, experts explained.
As a reminder, the Sulfur Program gathers the best personnel from all over Russia in Norilsk. All objects of the project are unique in their scale and have no analogues in the world. The operating staff will be the first to launch a unique technology of this magnitude in the history of metallurgy. The Sulfur Program was included in the top 200 events in the Yenisey province for 200 years.
