#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Soul of Russia: Arctic project has been launched as part of the international arctic forum Arctic – Territory of Dialogue (IAF), focusing on the culture of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North.
The aim of the project is to promote the cultural and historical values, traditions, and creative heritage of these northern peoples, reports TASS.
Participants and guests will have the opportunity to view both documentary and feature films, including The Great Northern Route, To the Arctic, Philately, On the Exhale, and others.
“Thanks to the free format, this program will be accessible to all residents of the Murmansk region and visitors to the forum. These are not just films or cartoons; they represent an essential part of the cultural mission of this major Arctic event”, noted Andrey Chibis, the governor of the Murmansk region.
The screenings will showcase animated and cinematic works that highlight the culture, traditions, and history of the peoples of Russia.
“Our film studio has a good deal of classic films about the North, as well as the modern animated series Umka, which is included in the screening program by Soyuzmultfilm as part of the IAF”, said Yuliana Slascheva, chairperson of the board of directors of the Soyuzmultfilm studio.
Additionally, a session titled Northern Creative Path: A Territory of Opportunities for Business will focus on the development of creative industries in the Arctic.
