#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk Development Agency (NDA) presented the tourism potential of Taimyr at the China International Travel Mart 2024 (CITM) in Shanghai. Representatives from more than a hundred countries took part in it.
A separate stand at the site under the Discover Russia brand was dedicated to Russia, more than 100 thousand guests and representatives of the tourism business visited it. The Norilsk Development Agency’s team presented the tourism potential of the region as part of the delegation of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Tourism Agency.
“Over the two days at the exhibition, we held business meetings and presentations of Taimyr routes for large Chinese tour operators interested in cooperation with our region. For us, it was important to understand what potential tourists expect to see in the Arctic, what level of service is required: from obtaining group visas to the work of qualified translators. We still have many tasks to solve so that in the spring we can host a group of tourism industry experts from China, who will be the first to go along the future tourist’s path”, said Angela Tkachenko, the NDA’s Tourism Development department head.
On the route of the trip along Taimyr, Chinese tourists expect to see the unique nature of the Far North, spend an ethnographically educational day with indigenous peoples, and also feel the industrial power of Norilsk.
As part of the business program, CITM participants exchanged experience in organizing tours for guests of different cultures and contacts for cooperation and systematic development of organized tourism from China to Krasnoyarsk region.
The Norilsk Development Agency continues to work on developing winter tourism in Taimyr and forming a competitive tourism offer for guests from China, as well as on organizing conditions for local tour operators to work with a new audience.
