#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The hike took place back in May, but the other day it became known that it won the Russian championship. The confederation is waiting for the results of a number of other hikes held in the season.
According to the group leader Zoya Drobysheva, eight people took part in the hike, including only three adults, the rest were high school students. The route was as follows: lake Glubokoye – foot of mount Sunduk – radial ascent (mount Sunduk) – tributary of lake Glubokoye (forest border) – Changa river pass – Left Kuraanah river – the 927 metres summit – Bytyk river – Lama river – lake Melkoye – Ayakli river – Berezovy brook – Listvyanka river – Norilsk, Talnah district.
“Our groups have not yet travelled along such a route, although some elements have certainly been passed by tourists more than once. The thing is that due to weather conditions, the thread of the route can change even at the moment of its passing. For example, this time due to poor visibility and a lot of snow precipitation it was decided to replace the main pass with a pass from the reserve route”, said Zoya Drobysheva. “In general, it turned out to be a cool route, a great team that had been preparing for the trek for a very long time! Stunning views of the Putorana plateau, as well as storm winds and temperatures from 0 to minus 38 degrees Celsius. But most importantly – loyal comrades. We succeeded thanks to teamwork. Classy, frost- and wind-resistant people in all respects, resourceful and positive, enduring with laughter and bright smiles all the hardships and deprivations of camping life”.
“To go on a hike of the third category of complexity, you need to pass the first and second category, have knowledge of orienteering, the necessary physical training, various skills needed on the way. For the guys this hike and its recognition is a great achievement and the result of very serious work”, they emphasised in the confederation.
Now the Arctic is preparing for a new hiking season (in our conditions it usually lasts from April to September inclusive). In plans – the route of the fourth category of complexity, maximum possible on age for minor participants.
We would like to add that the city public confederation of sports tourism, mountaineering and eco-education Arctic aims to promote sports tourism and applied sports in Norilsk, support projects aimed at developing mountaineering, ecotourism, eco-education, cognitive tourism, and research activities. In addition, members of the confederation are ready to advise tour groups planning their trips to the Putorana plateau.
