#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2024, the Nornickel company, as part of the Clean Norilsk program, will dismantle about 50 buildings and structures, clear up to 600 thousand square meters of waste and reclaim up to 100 hectares of land.
The company’s vice president for ecology and industrial safety, Stanislav Seleznev, in an interview with TASS, said that the pace of the program to clean up Norilsk from accumulated harm will be maintained. The company plans to allocate more than 3 billion rubles for these purposes.
The Clean Norilsk program started in 2021 and is designed for 10 years.
Over three years, about 350 buildings and structures have been dismantled, 1 million tons of garbage have been removed, an area of more than 4 million square meters has been cleaned, the total cost of implementing the program, including the purchase of equipment, amounts to 14.5 billion rubles. The total volume of planned investments is 40 billion.
