World record to be broken on Taimyr Day

Northerners will cook a 300-kilogram sugudai.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On December 10, residents of Taimyr will celebrate the Taimyr Dolgano-Nenets municipal district’s 94th formation anniversary. As part of the of Taimyr Day celebration, the Taimyr Attraction Arctic festival will be held in the polar capital.

The events dedicated to this date started last week with a screening of Nikolay Gornakov’s documentary Heavenly Lily at the Taimyr college and the Arctica cinema and leisure center.

On December 4, northerners can visit the creative workshop Kind Taimyr at the Taimyr college and take part in master classes in robotics, metal smelting, decorative embroidery and many others.

The Taimyr Attraction festival’s grand opening will take place on December 6 in the city House of Culture, the closing is on December 10.

As part of the Taimyr Workshop district festival in the Taimyr Museum of Local History, an exhibition of products of folk arts and crafts masters will open.

On December 7, the polar capital’s residents and guests are invited to an open ice hockey tournament among amateur teams. The competition will be held at the Taimyr ice arena.

In the Taimyr college’s assembly hall, a concert of Hatanga and Karaul rural settlements’ creative delegations Our Strength is in Taimyr Unity and Traditions will take place.

On December 9, on the Fatherland Heroes Day, Taimyr Lessons and Friendship Lessons will be held in the polar capital schools.

On the festival’s final day, December 10, folk festivities will be held in the Taimyr Oikumene, where they plan to cook a giant sugudai (a traditional fish dish) weighing 300 kilograms, thereby breaking the world record. During the day, a multimedia exhibition, Taimyr Honorary Anniversaries, will be broadcast on the outdoor screens of the Taimyr Museum of Local History and the Taimyr ice arena.

Recall that the exhibition Vladimir Dolgih: a Legendary Man has opened in the northern city.
