#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taigastro gastronomic festival started in Russia on August 1, with 241 restaurants from different regions of the country taking part. The main goal of the festival is to get consumers acquainted with the local cuisine of cities and regions, said festival producer Diana Butyugina.
“From August 1 to 20, the Taigastro gastronomic festival will be held across the country, its mission is to revive the gastronomic heritage of different regions of the country and popularize their local products. As part of the festival, participating restaurants will present a set of three dishes created from products of the taiga ecosystem, as well as from local, farm-based products. Chefs from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok will show the richness of regional cuisines, their traditions and values, using local products and a variety of classic and modern cooking techniques. This year, the festival will bring together 241 restaurants from 46 cities across Russia”, she told TASS.
In Krasnoyarsk itself, the birthplace of the festival, the events kicked off with a gala dinner at the Tunguska restaurant of modern Siberian cuisine, where seven famous chefs presented their art. The open-air festival Taigair is scheduled for August 10 and 11, and the festival will end on August 19 with a picnic on board a motor ship sailing along the Yenisey.
