#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The fish assortment in Russian stores has not changed much since 2005. Some types of fish and seafood that are harvested in the Far East are completely exported to Asian countries and do not reach the Russians.
Experts are developing measures that will allow the Russian consumer to fully enjoy the wealth of the Far Eastern seas at affordable prices. Wild-caught fish is not only healthy, it is the only sustainable food of animal origin with the lowest carbon content.
To upgrade production, 22 fishing enterprises and nine vessels were built. This year, 2.26 million tons of fish have already been caught in the Far East, and 355 000 – tons in the Northern basin. These products, of course, should get on the Russians’ tables at the most affordable prices, experts assure.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr said that one of the most valuable fish in the world – the Taimyr char, which is superior in omega-3 content to sea fish, will be grown in Krasnoyarsk. If the experiment is successful, this fish will become available to all Russians.
