#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Researchers from the Siberian Federal University are studying the life of the char, which is found in Sobachye lake in Taimyr. SFU scientists organized an expedition to the north of the Krasnoyarsk region.
Natural reserves of the char from Sobachye lake and similar reservoirs are not enough for everyone. If this fish is caught in the northern lakes, its population will quickly dwindle. However, scientists can figure out why the char is so rich in valuable acids. After that, experts are going to create conditions for large-scale reproduction of the char, which is rare in nature.
Scientists studied the characteristics of the fish, its diet, and took biomaterial from males and females to conduct an experiment on fish breeding. The caviar taken from the char were fertilized under artificial conditions and placed in incubators at the Norilsk fish hatchery. In the spring, a new generation of the fish will be used in further research.
Scientists believe that in the future, char dishes will be included in the menu of Russian people. Such food will be a good prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
May we remind you, earlier the press service of the Siberian Federal University, the Institute of Biophysics of the SB RAS and other sources reported that the Taimyr char was recognized as the most useful fish of all known due to the high content of omega-3 acids in its meat.
