#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. 11-year-old Miloslava Palavaeva from Zheleznogorsk has just returned from Taimyr. She visited the place which all bloggers and travelers dream to visit – the Putorana plateau.
It was the girl’s cherished desire, which she shared in a letter to the country president Vladimir Putin for the New Year. Miloslava wrote about her victories at the Olympiads, as well as her passion for geography and history.
In February, the schoolgirl got an answer – she was awarded a certificate for a summer trip.
With the assistance of Nornickel, the schoolgirl and her mother saw three waterfalls: the Bolshoy Irkindinsky 27 meters high, the Yaktali-Dulismar spit, a place where two rivers merge into one channel, and the largest in Russia in terms of spillway capacity, the Bolshoy Kureysky waterfall.
In addition, a tour to Norilsk and the Taimyr capital, Dudinka, was organized for the schoolgirl: she visited the Museum of Norilsk, took a boat ride along the Yenisey, and visited the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore and the House of Folk Art in Dudinka.
“I want to say a big thank to Vladimir Vladimirovich for fulfilling my cherished dream – to visit the Putorana plateau. I’m so happy! Of course, we also thank the management of the Nornickel company for being here. Dreams come true!” say Miloslava and her mother.
Previously, 70 gifted teenagers visited the North Pole, and the Nornickel employees’ children lived on the Volga for a month, trained, met with Olympians and went on excursions.
