#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Before the first show of the musical about the strange girl Pippi, the artistic director of the Children’s Musical Theater of the Young Actor, honored art worker and honored artist of Russia Alexander Fedorov said that parents should trust their children: “They don’t lie. They fantasize. I have listened to their fantasies for 40 years, and it makes life interesting”.
According to Alexander Fedorov, this is the first time his theater is touring with such a large cast, but the artistic director, who is also the director of the play, knew from the experience of the autumn tour in Norilsk that his young artists would get a warm welcome in the northern city. And not only the audience: “Everyone in the Norilsk theater is so friendly. It feels like great professionals are working here”.
As you know, in the Children’s Musical Theater of the Young Actor, which is called unique, children’s roles are played by young actors. All of them are schoolchildren and go on stage in their free time.
For Pippi – Ekaterina Borisova – this is the first tour. But from the first performance, the schoolgirl actress felt very confident. Excellent vocal abilities, understanding of the basics of acting, received at the theater school – all this is a guarantee that very soon a new name will appear in the list of famous graduates of Alexander Fedorov.
For the new generation of the northern city growing up in the world of smartphones, the offline format of a professional musical is clearly a novelty, but children feel everything. Many Norilsk residents came to the musical performance lasting two and a half hours with children not from six years old, as announced, but up to six. The main character on stage was often met with applause and phrases like: “I want to hug Pippi!”. This was said by a preschool girl after she heard that Pippi’s mother lived on a star… The little spectator even found that star – the Norilsk Drama famous chandelier. After the performance, the girl was going to draw it and send Pippi as a gift.
More than 30 young artists were involved in the tour performance. According to Alexander Fedorov, the theater will remember the two-day tour in the city, which met the artists with a blowing snow and white nights with warmth: “It is always nice to see the reaction of the audience: smiles, burning eyes, applause! This is what we are working for! Many thanks to the public! And special thanks for the support to the general partner of the theatre, Nornickel.
