#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On October 16, the Yenisey Stories cartoon lesson was held at the Arctica cinema and leisure center in Dudinka. This is a joint project of the Siberian Federal University publishing house and the Digital Humanities Association, supported by the presidential fund for cultural initiatives in the thematic area Cultural Code: Projects for the Promotion of Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values through Culture and Creative Industries. The program participants were students from Dudinka schools and children attending the Galaktika cartoon studio in the children’s and youth tourism and creativity center Junior.
At the event, the children got acquainted with entertaining cartoon stories about the adventures of a boy who ended up in the past, from which they learned about the Siberians’ traditions. After watching each of the four animated films, the children completed tasks, guessed riddles, played games, and participated in the reconstruction of their ancestors’ holidays using a special workbook and a mobile application.
The cartoon lesson Yenisey Stories is a creative development of the previous project – a children’s book The Cares and Fun of Little Yeniseians, which inspired the creative group to develop the theme of the Yenisey Siberia traditions in the animation genre.
The project partners were Krasnoyarsk educational and cultural organizations. These are the DHlab laboratory and students of the SFU Humanitarian Institute’s Information Technologies in Creative and Cultural Industries department, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Institute for Education Development, the regional state autonomous institution of culture Yenisey Kino, the municipal autonomous institution House of Cinema, and the creative association Gera Group.
