#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On December 9, in the art gallery of the Museum of Norilsk, the IV Northern Collection. Art of the Krasnoyarsk region’s North Artists regional art exhibition opened. The day before, on the International Day of the Artist, there was a press show.
On the opening day, the works of Norilsk and Taimyr authors were presented, created by them over the past year and passed through a competitive selection. The Northern Collection annually reveals new names in the artistic life of the region.
This year, 47 authors have submitted 115 works. The exhibition committee selected 48 of them the most interesting: painting, graphics, arts and crafts, thematic costumes with traditional ornaments in a modern sense, digital art.
The plots include the nature of the Far North, urban landscape, culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr.
31 participants, whose works were selected, were awarded diplomas.
“Attention and interest in the project is growing, the exhibition committee continues to select, and the museum continues to collect, document and present the result of the creative inspiration of local authors in exhibitions and catalogs. Artists are happy people. They are able to see beauty in everything and, despite the surrounding difficulties, continue to create amazing and wonderful works”, the organizers noted on the museum’s Facebook page.
