#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On Athlete’s Day, Norilsk kayakers and SUP surfers tried out a new competition site – lake Gorodskoye, which has recently undergone a large-scale cleaning.
Previously, the Smooth Water rowing competition was held on Dolgoye lake. And this summer, the Norilsk Development Agency, together with the mayor’s office and public sports organizations, created a new recreation area on Molodyozhny passage.
Specialists defined the reservoir depth, and the activists carried out a large cleaning. The first start on Gorodskoye was timed to coincide with the All-Russian Athlete’s Day.
Four men’s and six mixed crews competed.
“People came in a good mood, during the pandemic period, everyone missed such events. Although there were not many teams this year, they recklessly strived for winning. And the spectators from the surrounding houses also enjoyed the competition”, the organizers told.
Among the men’s teams, the victory was won by the of Samovars crew – Vladislav Golub and Kim Issarin. Among the mixed teams, Nadezhda won – Ildar Idrisov and Aliya Mansurova.
The spectators were also impressed by the Norilsk stand-up paddlers – the athletes showed the ability to glide through the water on a board with a paddle.
Previously, the summer berry festival in Norilsk was dedicated to healthy lifestyles and an eco-friendly lifestyle.
