#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A sculpture dedicated to the Siberian writer Victor Astafyev was unveiled on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University. On the same day, the cultural and historical coworking space Astafyev opened, the official portal of the Krasnoyarsk region government reported.
Last year, during a live broadcast on social networks, governor Mikhail Kotyukov received a request to support the initiative to install a sculptural composition dedicated to Victor Astafyev on the territory of the pedagogical university. The governor instructed city and regional departments to get involved in resolving this issue.
The best sketch of the future sculpture was chosen in a competition. The author of the project was the creative team of the Krasnoyarsk agency ArtStil and the artist-sculptor Ilya Tsarinny.
“This year, many events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of our Siberian writer took place across the country. But the epicenter of this anniversary, of course, was the Krasnoyarsk region. The installation of the sculptural composition – the writer’s bust – completes the cycle of commemorative events. I would like to thank everyone who was involved. Let the image of Victor Petrovich inspire students of the pedagogical university and remind us all of the greatness of the Siberian land talents”, said Arkady Zinov, the region’s minister of culture.
After the sculpture opening ceremony, all guests were invited to the new cultural and historical coworking space Astafyev, located in the pedagogical university.
Earlier, the motor ship Victor Astafyev was launched.
