The 15th international exhibition-fair – Treasures of the North. Masters and Artists of Russia – will be held in Moscow on 23-27 September. With the financial support of Nornickel, four family-clan communities of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, carrying out traditional economic activities in Taimyr, will participate in it.
Nya Tansa (the chairman is Valeria Bolgova); Mukustur (the chairmanis Nikolay Porotov); Agapa, (the chairperson is Zinaida Veselovskaya) family tribal communities; Kergen – Evenk family club, created in the Urular tribal community (the head is Nina Bettu) will go to the anniversary exhibition-fair in Moscow.
The Polar Style, National Cuisine and Traditional Dwelling festivals will be hosted in the Sokolniki exhibition and congress center within the framework of the large annual exhibition. The communities will demonstrate the full range of activities and creativity of the indigenous minorities of Taimyr: they will present agricultural products – deer meat, northern fish, as well as national costumes.
A traditional dwelling of indigenous peoples, the chum, will be installed on the square, where the hostesses will hold a presentation, show the interior decoration and household items. Various master classes, ceremonies, tasting of dishes and drinks of national cuisine will take place. At the fair, Taimyr people will present products made of fur, leather, deer antlers, mammoth tusk.
Let us remind you that the Taimyr masters have become prize-winners of the Treasures of the North exhibition more than once and have brought many awards.
