#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Deputy prime minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed Rosturizm to develop safety standards in the field of tourism. The measure is needed in order to minimize any specialized services providing risks.
The new standards do not have the task of ‘strangling’ travel companies, the main thing is the safe rest of people, RIA Novosti reports. As Chernyshenko noted, the tragedies with active tourists and lovers of quiet family recreation are unacceptable.
“Along with the growing tourist flow within the country, the government sees it as an important task to create conditions under which the tourism industry will function strictly following the principle of safety,” Dmitry Chernyshenko commented on the need to introduce new standards.
Now such safety standards are already being developed for the North Caucasus, where the largest flow of tourists from Russia traditionally travels. And in 2022, the rules will apply to all domestic tourism.
According to the Krasnoyarsk travel agency Mango head Vasily Fedyunin, the standardization of domestic tourism is long overdue and will indeed make active recreation safe.
According to the regional tourism agency, more than 1.5 million tourists from all over Russia and other countries visited the region last year, almost 700 travel companies and 49 tour operators operate in the region.
By the way, under the tourist cashback program, Russians were returned almost 6.7 billion rubles, and tourism development projects in Taimyr would be supported at the federal level. Moreover, Russia will resume flights with Thailand and eight other countries.
