#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the tourist flow in Taimyr has exceeded the last year’s figures. Anastasia Korol, deputy director for tourism development of the Norilsk Development Agency (NDA), spoke about this at the Direct Line of Hospitality.
“In 2019, 4.8 thousand conscious tourists arrived on the Taimyr peninsula and bought long-term vouchers. This year, despite all the difficulties, more than five thousand tourists have already visited the peninsula”, she said.
In addition, according to Anastasia Korol, more than 20 thousand business tourists get acquainted with the territory of Norilsk and Taimyr every year: “We are a business region after all. And every year, one way or another, the North is also visited by people who come with business purposes”.
Direct Line of Hospitality is an online project about tourism in the regions, launched by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The talk show was also attended by the governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Alexander Uss. He spoke about the advantages of tourism in the Far North.
Experts have come to the conclusion that the tourist season in Taimyr can last ten months, with the exception of December and January.
