#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In September, the Theatre Seasons festival’s first events will take place in Norilsk on the stage of the Polar drama theater named after V. Mayakovsky, initiated by the Nornickel company.
On September 7, the program will open with the play The Elder Son of the Moscow theater named after V. Mayakovsky, people’s artist of Russia Igor Kostolevsky will play the main role in it. Another event will be the recent premiere – a one-man show by actress Alexandra Ursulyak Good Songs directed by the young director Alexey Zolotovitsky.
The festival will end in December, when the Moscow Satirikon theatre named after Arkady Raikin will tour with two performances – The Jokers and Konstantin Raikin: In My Own Voice. Konstantin Raikin spoke about the latest production in an interview with Nornickel:
“This performance has been in my life – I’m even afraid to say how many years. It changes. It has changed its name several times. It was once called Come on, Artist! I was kind of cheerful, such a lively person, such a spring, and I danced and made the audience laugh a lot. And there were some sketches, observations of people. I showed them in large quantities. And I read poetry. At first, a little. It was always a solo performance. Everyone recognized me. And then I began to give solo concerts. Then I began to change, there were a lot of poems in the performance, I felt sad to waste time on my own words when there were some great poems that I wanted to perform. As a result, poetry filled the entire evening, and I began to comment on something a little. There were different authors, many. Now it’s mainly David Samoilov and Pushkin”.
An important part of the project will be a special program, developed jointly with the Polar drama theater. It will include several areas at once and aims to expand the ways in which the city’s cultural institutions interact with the audience.
In September, the founder of the Performative agency, Sergey Pershin, will share with his colleagues the intricacies of developing marketing strategies for cultural events. The head of the educational cluster of the Moscow theater Novaya Opera, Alisa Spirina, will talk about effective techniques and methods of communication with a teenage audience. And the St. Petersburg director and teacher, artistic director of the Theater House project of the Give Me Wings foundation, Dmitry Krestyankin, will conduct a laboratory dedicated to the study of the modern teenager world, his interaction with the performing arts, and theater as a tool for learning and understanding reality. The result of the laboratory will be the creation of a documentary play and the production of a stage sketch together with participants of Norilsk theatre studios.
The festival is not only an opportunity for viewers to see the works of outstanding artists – Konstantin Raikin, Igor Kostolevsky, Alexandra Ursulyak and others. The organizers aim to reveal the creative potential of the city itself, to show it as a modern, developing cultural center, where many interesting things happen both for the residents themselves and for those who want to discover Norilsk – an amazing place of power, which combines a unique natural landscape, the versatility of historical memory, the rhythm and ambitions of a modern city looking to the future.
