Tired of the polar night, the Norilsk people get a full amount of sunlight in summer – of course, subject to a clear sky, which does not often happen in the polar city. So, in this area, a part of the solar disk appears above the horizon in mid-January. Starting with half an hour, the duration of a sunny day gradually increases. At the end of March, the time of twilight and white nights begins in Norilsk.
The polar day in the city lasts until July 25. Then everything develops in the opposite order: twilight and white nights, then the change of day and night, then the polar night. This is one of the climatic sights of the Arctic.
