Taimyr rap heard in Dudinka

July 03, 2024

Polar Wolves joined the younger generation.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Youth Day was celebrated at a separate site in Dudinka last weekend. The federal holiday coincides with City Day in Taimyr.

This time, Youth Day was held in the skate park of the Dudinka sports complex Jam Park – where the House of Physical Education, a swimming pool, the Taimyr ice arena and a football field are located.

On this day, the wheel theme dominated there, since the local branch of VSPAAN (Voluntary Society for the Promotion of the Army, Aviation and Navy) brought ATVs not only to take the youth for a ride, but also to let them ride themselves under the supervision of instructors. And representatives of the Dudinka branch of the Polar Wolves biker club came to Jam Park to take photos and give fans the opportunity to take a closer look at the equipment.

The Jam Park, meanwhile, was resounding with the rhythmic sounds of modern music, rap and hip-hop compositions performed by local authors to the frenzy of fans. Against this background, completely original things stood out, which were distinguished by their Taimyr origin.

This is nothing less than a rap composition in the languages of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr. The Nenets Mitya Tesedo and the Dolgan Nikolay Suleymanov performed their songs in their native and partially in Russian languages. Their compositions are exclusively original works, one of which, after professional arrangement, entered the repertoire of the honored folk art group of the Russian Federation, the song and dance ensemble of the North peoples Heiro.
