#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Multimedia exhibition Nganasans: Journey to the Past was presented at the Hakass National Museum. An exhibition about the ancient people living on the peninsula was created at the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore as part of the Taimyr Art Seasons project.
The exhibition is based on the graphic works of the first Nganasan artist Motyumyaku Turdagin.

“With the help of computer technology, the artist’s paintings from the collections of the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore came to life, and now the multimedia exhibition is a unique content in demand among visitors. Each graphic work is accompanied by a legend, this helps the viewer to get in touch with the culture of the small northern people – the Nganasans. And at the same time, get to know the professional Nganasan artist’s work better”, said the organizers.
The people’s creative heritage was demonstrated in Hakassia by Nganasan Alexey Chunanchar – he played the bargan and danced.
Taimyr museum workers Bella Chuprina and Boris Molchanov Jr. took part in the Abakan exhibition presentation. The project was carried out thanks to grant support from Nornickel and the World of New Opportunities program.
Earlier, the art seasons reached Norilsk, New Life of Old Objects was presented in Dudinka and, with the support of the Our Norilsk foundation, paintings by Dolgan master Boris Molchanov were revived.
