Now the soil is being prepared for laying asphalt. On the facades of houses No.10 and No.12 on Matrosov street, artists are busy with painting.
The construction of the new attraction became possible thanks to the World of New Opportunities charity program of the Nornickel company. The idea is being implemented in partnership with the Norilsk Development Agency.
According to the Taimyr administration press office the square will be decorated in ethnic colors. The Hyperboloid art object, a photo zone depicting a herd of deer and several swings will be installed on it, as well as a pavilion that will house a cafe, a souvenir shop and an information center.
The square will be used as an open universal city space for various events. It will also become a new tourist attraction, introducing the history of Taimyr, the culture and traditions of indigenous ethnic groups to the residents and guests of Dudinka. They can also taste dishes of northern national cuisine and buy ethnic souvenirs there.
The construction of the square will go on until 2022.
