#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Residents of Norilsk will gather to celebrate the long-awaited return of the sun on Yeniseiskaya street. On February 1, the Talnah branch of the city museum will host interactive platforms featuring lively games and ethnic music.
Thanks to the efforts of our Dudinka neighbors, attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of Taimyr during the Heiro festival. The Taimyr House of Folk Art – Main Chum – has arranged a diverse program that includes Enets and Nenets songs, as well as solo performances on the bargan (Jew’s harp). For those eager to express their creativity, there will be a workshop titled Bird of Happiness, where participants can craft their own souvenirs.

The most enthusiastic guests can take part in traditional games such as stick pulling, rope jumping, fishing, and a maut (a rope) throwing. Everyone will find something engaging at the themed exhibition Towards the Sun.
The Heiro festival kicks off on Saturday, February 1, at the Talnah branch of the Norilsk Museum.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr reported that on February 2, the Norilsk Development Agency will greet the full sun disc as it rises above the Gudchiha mountain. The theme of the meeting will be Three Springs in Norilsk.
