#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Meetings with the famous group The Blue Noses are planned at the PolArt residence on November 10 and 11. The first session will be held in the format of a lecture on Russian video art, the second will launch the Snow Avant-Garde project, which will become another non-standard look at Norilsk from the outside.
The Blue Noses association is represented by Vyacheslav Mizin, Alexander Shaburov and Evgeny Ivanov. In their works they combine modern art and mass culture, including creating video gags – short comic or parody videos.

Having once visited our city, they were impressed and came up with a story about suprematist creatures made of snow, ice and scrap metal living in the vicinity of Norilsk – fantastic transformers that were generated by the local nature and man-made environment.
The creatures will be made from prints and cardboard, then filmed against the backdrop of real Norilsk landscapes. This will be an observation of the life and activities of the post-industrial era mythological character – Nickelman.
The art residents work result will be a series of photo prints Snow Avant-Garde and a video film The Nickelman’s Life.
Both events take place within the POLART project. AR(t)-Reality, it is being implemented by the Norilsk Museum – the winner of the grant competition for long-term social projects Main Resource, organized by the Our Norilsk endowment fund.
